Built by an operator, not a career consultant.
Barrier Point Consulting was built around a simple belief: the best advice comes from people who have actually had to lead the team, own the number, solve the problem, satisfy the customer, and live with the result.
A Swiss Army knife for growing businesses.
Zach Locker's career has never fit neatly into one box.
He has led large national sales organizations, built teams, managed significant revenue and profitability, worked inside fast-growing companies, operated businesses of his own, and spent years in customer-facing environments where execution matters immediately.
That range is the foundation of Barrier Point.
The work isn't limited to strategy, technology, sales, people, operations, or process. It is about understanding how all of those pieces interact—and finding the one or two barriers preventing the organization from moving forward.
From selling in the field to leading nationally.
Before launching Barrier Point, Zach spent years with a global manufacturing business in increasingly senior sales leadership roles—first building business in the field and later leading the company's U.S. sales organization.
As National Sales Manager, he led a team responsible for a business portfolio that grew from approximately $145 million to $180 million in annual revenue.
The job was far bigger than managing a sales number. It meant building people, developing leaders, managing territories, navigating rapid growth, protecting margins, supporting major accounts, introducing new products, working across departments, and continually improving how the organization executed.
Leadership
Building, coaching, and aligning teams around measurable outcomes.
Scale
Managing growth without allowing complexity to outrun the organization.
Execution
Turning strategy into expectations, activities, accountability, and results.
Adaptability
Moving between sales, operations, customers, leadership, and problem solving as the business demanded.
Advising owners is different when you've been one.
Entrepreneurship
After years inside larger organizations, Zach moved to the other side of the table and built businesses of his own.
That experience changes the way Barrier Point approaches consulting. In a small or mid-sized business, there is no department to hide behind. Cash matters. Time matters. Customers matter. Hiring mistakes matter. And every new process has to work in the real world—not just on paper.
Building and operating businesses firsthand created a deeper understanding of the pressure owners live with every day: generating revenue, managing people, serving customers, handling finances, building systems, and still trying to find enough time to think strategically.
Hospitality & Customer Experience
Hospitality added another layer to that operating perspective.
Restaurants and service businesses are unforgiving environments. Staffing, scheduling, training, purchasing, service quality, customer expectations, speed, communication, and profitability all collide in real time.
That experience reinforced one of the core beliefs behind Barrier Point: a company's strategy only matters if the people closest to the customer can execute it consistently.
The problem usually doesn't belong to one department.
A sales problem may really be a training problem. A staffing problem may actually be a process problem. A technology problem may be an accountability problem. A reporting problem may simply mean nobody has agreed on what matters.
That is where a broad operating background becomes valuable. Barrier Point can move across functions, connect the dots, and help leadership see the business as a complete system rather than a collection of individual departments.
We don't stop at telling you what should change.
Barrier Point can help design the solution and then work alongside leadership to implement it.
That may mean defining roles, rebuilding a workflow, establishing scorecards, creating Rocks and priorities, implementing dashboards, evaluating technology, automating manual processes, developing leaders, creating training, or simply bringing clarity to an organization that has outgrown the way it used to operate.
The ultimate goal is not dependency on a consultant. It is a stronger management system that your leadership team can own.
Sometimes you don't need another specialist. You need someone who can connect the whole business.
Find the barrier. Build the system. Create traction.
